KDPS investigating after early morning fire

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating after an early morning fire.

The fire started at a home in the 1300 Block of Blakeslee Street just before 3 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters told 24 Hour News 8 on scene, the homeowner was inside when the fire started and called 911, everyone got out safely.

There was a Mayday call made at some point but no firefighters were injured.

 

Firefighters had difficulty locating the origin of the fire, they’re working to learn what caused it.
