PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) – One woman is in the hospital being treated for minor injuries after a rollover crash.

On June 9, Portage Police and Fire units responded to a two car rollover accident at the intersection of South Westnedge and Idaho Avenue just before 9:30 p.m.

A 31-year-old Parchment woman was turning northbound onto South Westnedge from Idaho Avenue in a 1994 Honda when she hit a 2005 Saturn Van.

The collision caused the 35-year-old Kalamazoo woman driving the Saturn to roll the vehicle which came to a stop resting on the driver’s side. She was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, police believe the driver of the Saturn caused the accident when she failed to stop for a red light.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Portage Department of Public Safety at 329-4567 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
