OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A 46-year-old man from Holland is recovering after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing the BMW he was driving.
The wreck happened Tuesday morning around 6:45 a.m. on Port Sheldon Road east of 128th Avenue in Olive Township, north of Holland, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
James Roubos was headed west on Port Sheldon in a 2007 BMW when he said he fell asleep and drifted off the right side of the road, sheriff’s officials said.
The BMW rolled over and hit a power pole, the sheriff’s office said. Roubos wasn’t wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Roubos was hurt in the wreck and was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment where he was last listed in stable condition, sheriff’s officials said.
