Grand Rapids accepts land donation for city parks

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids now has three additional acres of land for its city park system.

Grand Rapids city commissioners accepted the 2.88 acre site, located in the 1300 of Fourth Street, as a gift from Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.

The group, formed to support the city’s park system, was able to purchase the site through a grant from the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and in-kind donations.

The property is adjacent to the area known as the Fourth Street woods, across the street from Sullivan Field.
