Development to liquidate, P.F. Chang’s to remain open

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Court documents reveal a U.S. bankruptcy judge has ruled the Village at Knapp’s Crossing will go under Chapter 7 bankruptcy, leading to liquidation.

The owner of the Village at Knapp’s Crossing Steve Benner owes millions, according to court documents.

The development’s only tenant is P.F. Chang’s.

Mark Kirke, the regional vice president for P.F. Chang’s, told 24 Hour News 8 in a statement that the restaurant will remain open at its East Beltline location and has no plans to move.

A special trustee will be appointed to handle the liquidation of Benner’s development. No word yet on when that could happen.
