Semi jackknifes on WB I-196 in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A jackknifed semi-truck caused a traffic backup on the highway in Grand Rapids Wednesday evening.

A lane of westbound I-196 after Lane Avenue was shut down for a time, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

24 Hour News 8 skycams showed westbound traffic was backed up at least as far as the US-131 interchange.

The circumstances leading up to the accident are unknown.
