GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — About 3,000 homebrewers are in Grand Rapids for one of their biggest conferences yet.

The American Homebrewers Association’s National Homebrewers Conference is taking place in downtown Grand Rapids at DeVos Place from June 12-14.

Gary Glass of the American Homebrewers Association said they’ve been working to come to West Michigan for a few years now due to the booming craft beer industry and the city’s title of Beer City, USA.homebrewers2

“Grand Rapids is a great destination for us because of the breweries like Founders that are nationally-known but not necessarily nationally available,” Glass said.

The conference is only open to homebrewers, but people can register at the door.

There are events happening at local bars and breweries due to the conference that are open to the public, click here for the full listing.
