MARTIN, Mich. (WOOD) – The Barry County Sheriff’s Office says a 91-year-old man who had been reported missing has been located.

Martin Leep appeared to be doing fine, a Thursday evening release from the sheriff’s office said, after being found in northern Kent County.

Leep drove away from the Delton area around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and expected to arrive in the Martin area, but never showed up. Sheriff’s officials said Leep may have gotten “turned around” while he was driving.

Leep had later been seen a Hastings gas station around 10 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. He told a clerk he was lost and asked for directions. He was given directions home via M-179 through Yankee Springs. He was reportedly in good condition, but did not know where he was, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office thanked the public for its help in the search for Leep.
