Man shot in leg; suspect on run

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – A man was shot in the leg Wednesday night in the Edison neighborhood.

Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to the area of Lay Boulevard and James Street around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

Police found evidence of a shooting, but couldn’t find a victim.

A short time later, a 27-year-old Kalamazoo man arrived at Bronson Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was treated and released.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Lay Boulevard is the same street in Edison neighborhood where 13-year-old Michael Day was shot and killed last month.
