SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of movie-goers are headed to the lakeshore for the start of the Waterfront Film Festival.
Among the films set to screen at the festival this year are 21 Midwest premieres and 13 Michigan premieres, including award-winning documentaries and star-studded narrative features. Many of the films will have producers, actors, directors, and writers in attendance and participating in Q&A sessions after each screening.
This marks the 16th year for the festival and the second year it’s been in South Haven.
“It’s really been a wonderful place to host a film festival,” said Hopwood DePree, one of the founders of the Waterfront Film Festival. “Everybody who comes up to visit just loves it because the town is right on the beach.”
A beach party including live music, a beer garden, and a film on a large inflatable screen begins at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Waterfront Film Festival runs from June 13-15.
