PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) – Detectives arrested a fugitive from Kalamazoo who was found with meth paraphernalia while in a vehicle parked behind a dumpster in Paw Paw Friday.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was told of drug activity taking place around the 100 block of E. Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw around 1 p.m., according to a release.
Detectives found a vehicle parked behind a dumpster in a parking lot in the area. They saw the vehicle had two people inside and had been sitting behind the dumpster for a period time.
When narcotics detectives made contact, they noticed the suspects had meth paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
A 45-year-old man from Paw Paw was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
Ernestine Olson, 45, of Kalamazoo was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and an outstanding felony warrant for dangerous drugs out of Kalamazoo County, the release said.
Both have been lodged at the Van Buren County Jail.
