Attempted kidnapping in Montcalm Twp.

MONTCALM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies are investigating an attempted kidnapping in Montcalm Township Friday.

It happened at 3 p.m. on Friday near Dickerson Lake Road and Greenville Road, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office.

A 15-year-old Greenville student was walking home when a vehicle continually passed her and stopped, the driver offering to give her a ride. The girl refused and then the driver ordered her to get into the car.

The girl ran into nearby woods and made her way back home. She wasn’t believed to be targeted. She was not harmed.

The vehicle was described as a mid-2000s, silver Pontiac G-6 with a sunroof.

The driver was described as a white man in his mid-twenties to thirties with a military style haircut, brown hair and was wearing a red t-shirt. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
