PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were seriously injured after a car turned in front of their motorcycle.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on 152nd Avenue near Ottawa Beach Road just after 6 p.m. Sunday involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and 1997 Volvo.

19-year-old William Flipsey was driving southbound on 152nd Avenue in a 1997 Volvo when he attempted to turn onto Ambertrace Drive and collided with the motorcycle, according to police.

24-year-old Garrett Imkamp was driving the motorcycle with passenger 21-year-old Brittany Taylor riding on the back.

Imkamp told deputies he couldn’t avoid the car when it turned in front of him, and both he and Taylor were taken to Holland Community Hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The two were wearing helmets.

Flipsey was not injured in the collision.

Deputies do not believe alcohol was a factor.
