GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A contractor who clients say never showed up to do the work they paid him for also failed to appear in court to face a lawsuit.
Earlier this month, a Target 8 investigation revealed several people said Jeffery Scott TenElshof II, who goes by Scott, had taken their money and never done the construction work for which they hired him.
Eric Fox, who appeared in the Target 8 report, was in court Wednesday to sue TenElshof. Fox said he paid TenElshof to work on his northwest Grand Rapids home, but that TenElshof vanished without doing the job.
TenElshof was a no-show to court Wednesday, too, so the magistrate entered a default judgment against him, ordering him to pay Fox $1,200 plus court costs.
Other lawsuits are still pending against TenElshof. And since Target 8’s investigation aired, criminal fraud charges have also been filed against him.
