Volunteers needed to help seniors with fire recovery

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – The Community Response Team is asking for people and vehicles to help move the elderly people from a senior apartment complex after a fire broke out there Monday.

The Joint-Religious Organizing Network for Action and Hope along with the Battle Creek Community Emergency Response Team are organizing volunteers and vehicles to assist in retrieving belongs and moving residents from the Lake Meadows housing complex.

Lake Meadows, located at 890 Territorial Road, was severally damaged after a fire broke out on Monday.

They will be helping out the senior citizens with fire recovery between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
