Motorcylist dies after crash in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcycle crash left one man dead and another person injured Saturday.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. at West Michigan Avenue and Parrott Drive.

According to officials, 28-year-old Richard Martin was speeding westbound on Michigan Avenue when he crashed into a minivan at the intersection.

Martin was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the mini-van, 77-year-old Dorothy Brown, was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
