Deer jumps in front of motorcyclist

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A motorcyclist lost control and veered into a ditch after hitting deer in Sherman Township Saturday.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. on Balk Road near Mintadale Road in Sherman Township, east of Big Rapids, according to a news release.

The motorcycle, driven by 25-year-old Samuel Brackob of Sturgis, was traveling northbound on Balk Road when a deer ran out in front of his vehicle causing him to lose control and swerve into a ditch, the release said.

Brackob received minor injuries in the crash, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
