Items stolen from unlocked cars in Norton Shores

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) –Police received several reports of items being stolen from vehicles during the night in portions of Norton Shores over the weekend.

The thefts all happened during the night in the southern portion of Norton Shores, specifically in the Windflower Bay Neighborhood near Pontaluna Road and Martin Road and in the 5600 block of Westwood Drive, according to a Norton Shores Police Department news release.

All of the vehicles were unlocked and some were in open garages. Mostly wallets, cash and electronics were stolen from the vehicles, the release said.

Authorities are telling people to take valuables from their vehicles, close windows and lock their doors.
