Kent Co. gas station armed robbery suspect sought

CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who held up a gas station clerk at gunpoint in northern Kent County early Monday morning.

It happened at the Bailey’s General Store at 6051 Belding Road NE near Blakely Drive NE just after 3:30 a.m. in Cannon Township, southeast of Rockford, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s officials said the suspect, who is said to be between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a dark-colored mask, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants and shoes, was able to get cash from the store and then ran off.

No one was injured in the robbery.
