Man sentenced for Paw Paw stabbing death

PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — The man who stabbed and killed a Kalamazoo man last October was sentenced Monday.

William Stephens was sentenced to at least 11 years and 10 months with a maximum of 22 years and 6 months in prison for the death of 20-year-old Trey Yarbrough.

Stephens stabbed Yarbrough during a fight at the Lakeside Inn in Paw Paw in the late hours of Oct. 1, 2013. Yarbrough died the next morning.

Stephens, 38, was arrested in Battle Creek after an eight-hour manhunt. He was found guilty of manslaughter in April.
