SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – An elderly woman who was reported missing Monday morning in southwest Michigan has been located.
June Robinson, 82, was reported missing from her home in the 5100 block of Townhall Road in Silver Creek Township, northwest of Dowagiac, just before 8 a.m. by her family, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officials said in a release that Robinson is believed to suffer from dementia.
The sheriff’s office said that a Michigan State Police helicopter spotted Robinson in a wooded area not far from her home, and she was rescued by a sheriff’s deputy.
She was talking and alert, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said MSP; the Dowagiac and Silver Creek police departments; the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team and Cass County Marine Division; the fire departments from Dowagiac, Indian Lake, Keeler Township, Pokagon Township and Sister Lakes; and Pridecare Ambulance assisted, as did volunteers with the Cass County Civilian Emergency Response Team, the Cass County RACES amateur radio group, and several citizens.
