GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Every year the Connecting with Community Awards showcases outstanding collaborations at work in our community. One of those is Health Intervention Services. It’s bringing health care services to those who may not otherwise have a way to get them.
On Thursday, July 26, Health Intervention Services is holding a wheel-a-thon at Millennium Park. You can bring any kind of wheels, from rollerblades to bikes to strollers, and enjoy an evening on the Kent Trails. The event is from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. and costs $25 per adult and $5 for children 13 and under.
The Annual Wheel-A-Thon benefits Health Intervention Services. H.I.S. is a faith based health center located in downtown Grand Rapids. They offer medical, dental, optical, and counseling services to those without health insurance. Physicians, dentists and nurses from area hospitals volunteer at H.I.S.
