New disability accessible playground coming to Art Van Sports Complex

ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) A new playground is coming to West Michigan made especially for children with disabilities. The Art Van Fun Zone is being built at the Art Van Sports Complex in Rockford, Mich.

The Art Van Fun Zone will be a handicap accessible playground that children with physical limitations can enjoy through easy access ramps and interactive games.

The Art Van Fun Zone will complement the Miracle Field, another feature of the Art Van Sports Complex, which is designed for children with physical limitations.

The Miracle Field features a custom baseball field with rubberized turf to prevent injuries, a wheelchair-accessible dugout and a completely flat surface to eliminate barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually-impaired children.

The Fun Zone and Miracle Field are part of the Art Van Sports Complex, which is a state-of-the-art facility with 12 ball fields, lights, a covered championship field grandstand and concessions.

Art Van is excited to bring the Art Van Fun Zone to life and continue to “Connect with Community”
