Kent County, Mich. (WOOD) — Two suspects have been charged after allegedly staging a robbery at a Kent County gas station convenience store.

It happened in the early hours of Monday at the Citgo gas station on Belding Road near Blakely Drive NE in Cannon Township.

Young, 28, of Wyoming was charged Wednesday with false report of a felony, conspiracy to larceny in a building, embezzlement by an agent or trustee of $200 or more but less than $1,000, and being a fourth-offense habitual offender.

Towne, 43, of Belding has been charged with larceny in building, conspiracy to embezzlement by an agent or trustee of $200 or more but less than $1,000, and being a fourth-offense habitual offender.

Both suspects were arrested Tuesday in Ionia County and taken to the Kent County jail, the sheriff’s department said.

Wednesday, bond for Towne and Young was set at $25,000 each.
