Leyland scouting Whitecaps, watching son play

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WOOD) –The former Tiger’s skipper, Jim Leyland was at the Fifth Third Ballpark to scout the Whitecaps and watch his son play ball Friday.

Jim Leyland’s son, Pat Leyland, was in the Whitecap’s starting lineup and was their designated hitter for the game against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

This was a treat for Jim Leyland because this is the first time in a long time he has been able to watch his son play a professional baseball game.

The Whitecaps beat the Hot Rods 0-1 Friday.
