GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The trial for a woman who allegedly opened fire through a McDonald’s drive-thru window has been delayed.

Shaneka Torres’s trial was scheduled to start Monday, but was instead adjourned due to a change in her counsel.

In February, the 29-year-old went to the drive-thru at the McDonald’s on 28th Street near Madison Avenue in Grand Rapids with a friend. She said an employee got her order wrong, so she went back to the drive-thru later that night.

According to Grand Rapids police, Torres said workers got it wrong again, leaving the bacon off her burger. That’s when she allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot through the drive-thru window.

No one was hurt.

Torres faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, discharge of a firearm in or at a building and felony firearms.

A new trial date has not yet been set.
