MACKINAW CITY, Mich (WOOD) A trip to Northern Michigan is not complete without a trip to McGulpin Point Lighthouse and Historic site, in Emmet County. It’s situated right on the Straits of Mackinac and is one of the area’s most important and oldest sites.

The lighthouse is situated very close to the Mackinac Bridge and many years ago, before the bridge went up, it was an important meeting place for Native Americans. it then became an important place for navigation and commerce, which led to the lighthouse.
