GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — U.S. Senate Candidate Gary Peters will continue his two-day “Stars, Stripes and Service” tour in West Michigan on Wednesday.

As part of the “Michigan First” Listening Tour, Peters is traveling by bus with a group of veterans, including some that served under his command in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

He will also be meeting with veterans and listening to the issues that most concern them, as well as outlining a series of initiatives that would honor those that serve or have served in uniform.

During his “Stars, Stripes and Service” Tour, Peters will make a stop in Ionia at the Steele Street Hall at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

He will also speak at the American Legion Post 47 located at 3811 West River Drive at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Democrat Gary Peters and Republican Terri Lynn Land are both running to fill Sen. Carl Levin’s seat, which will be up for grabs in November when he steps down.
