Person of interest in motorcyclist’s homicide

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A man being charged with car theft is considered a person of interest in the shooting of a motorcyclist, Muskegon County authorities say.

Jake Rameau died June 26 after crashing his motorcycle in the 2400 block of Peck Street in Muskegon Heights. It’s unclear whether he was shot before or after the crash, Michigan State Police say.

Dashawn Boylan. (July 2, 2014)Dashawn Andrew Boylan is being considered a person of interest in the homicide of the 26-year-old, according to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office.

Boylan, 25, already faces charges for stealing a car.

Rameau was chasing the car Boylan is accused of stealing when the shooting and crash happened, Rameau’s brother told 24 Hour News 8.
