1 hurt in wrong-way crash on US-31

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was hospitalized after a 73-year-old woman driving on the wrong way on the highway struck his vehicle.

It happened on US-31 just south of Pontaluna Road in Norton Shores around 8:40 a.m. Thursday, according to the Norton Shores Police Department.

The Twin Lake woman was driving north in the southbound lanes when her car collided with a vehicle headed in the correct direction, police say.

The 30-year-old driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Police said charges had not yet been determined.
