Grandwich sandwich contest begins Tuesday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Starting Tuesday, 30 Grand Rapids restaurants will compete for the title of best sandwich in town.

The Grandwich competition, in its fourth year, will run from July 8 through July 27, according to a release from Downtown Grand Rapids Inc.

The public can vote on each sandwich at the participating restaurants, narrowing down the competition to the top 10.

Then, on Aug. 1, a panel of celebrity judges will select a winner from the top 10 at an event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids.

During that event, those who donate $5 to Kid’s Food Basket will be able to sample the top 10 sandwiches.

  • McFaddens Restaurant and Saloon
  • Osteria Rossa
  • Peppinos Sports Grill
  • Rowster New American Coffee
  • San Chez

  • Skywalk Deli
  • SpeakEZ Lounge
  • Stella’s Lounge
  • Taco Bar Company
  • Tavern on the Square
  • Terra GR
  • The B.O.B.
  • The Bistro at Courtyard by Marriott

Once the competition begins, votes can be cast at Downtown Grand Rapids Inc.’s Grandwich site.
