2 seriously injured after BC crash

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Two drivers were pinned in their vehicles and were seriously injured after a crash in Battle Creek Friday morning.

Battle Creek Police Department were called out to the crash on Capital Avenue NE at Convis Street at 9:12 A.M..

When they arrived on scene, they found a black Chevy Blazer and a white Chevy Colorado pickup truck. Both vehicles had extensive front end damage.

Police believe the driver of the Blazer, a 37-year-old Bellevue woman, was speeding and crossed the double yellow line into the path of the pickup truck.

Both the driver of the Blazer and the driver of the pickup truck, a 21-year-old Battle Creek man, had to be extricated from their vehicles and were both taken to area hospitals. Police say both drivers suffered serious injuries, but their current conditions are unknown.

Battle Creek Police continue to investigate the crash.
