WEST OLIVE, Mich. (WOOD) — A contractor who didn’t do the jobs he was paid for is serving jail time.

Last week, William Mason was sentenced to 180 days in the Ottawa County Jail after pleading guilty to false pretenses.

Mason, who goes by Tony, took money from clients — $7,000, in one case but never completed the jobs for which he was hired.

As part of a plea agreement in Ottawa County, the false pretenses charges Mason faced in Kent County were dropped.

However, he has agreed to pay restitution to all of his victims, including those in Kent County.
