1 hurt in shooting in SE GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was injured in a shooting in Grand Rapids Wednesday evening.

Police on the scene of a shooting near Dallas Avenue and Alexander Street SE. (July 9, 2014)It happened in the area of Dallas Avenue SE and Alexander Street, which isn’t far from the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Franklin Street.

The injured person was seen limping down the street before he was picked up and taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

His wound is not believed to be life-threatening.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet known.

At the scene, police officers could be seen putting out evidence markers in the street.
