Body of missing man found near Lake MI

GANGES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Search and rescue crews found the body of a missing man from Chicago Saturday.

Crews were called out to the area of 7149 114thAvenue in Ganges Township, near Saugatuck, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The man was reported missing from Chicago on June 30, according to Allegan County Sheriff’s Department. Allegan County Sheriff’s Department was given his description and information because he frequents the area.

A rental property owner found a car in front of his property and then called police. The car matched the missing Chicago man’s vehicle.

Crews found the body in vegetation between 114th Avenue and Lake Michigan.

The cause of death is under investigation. Police don’t know if it was accidental, suicide or homicide.
