Residents without power in SE GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Hundreds of Consumers Energy customers are without power in Southeast Grand Rapids Saturday.

The outage happened just after 3 p.m. Saturday around Eastern Avenue and Burton Street and on both sides of Division Avenue between Hall Street and Burton Street.

Around 2,000 customers are affected by the outage. Service will be restored by 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Consumers Energy said.

A squirrel in a substation caused the outage, according to Consumers Energy.
