GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Kent County assistant prosecuting attorney is locked up on two criminal sexual conduct charges.
According to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office, Mark VanderMolen is being held in the Kent County jail on charges of assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct with penetration and a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The prosecutor’s office said the alleged incident does not involve a minor.
VanderMolen had not been arraigned on the charges as of Tuesday evening.
He served in the prosecutor’s office for more than two decades before he retired in 2011.
