Wanted man found on stolen bike with meth

HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) – A man with three outstanding warrants is in jail after police found him riding a stolen bike and in possession of meth components Thursday.

Police were called to the area of State Street and Railroad Street in Hastings around 5 p.m. Thursday, July 10 for a report of a man riding a stolen bicycle, according to a news release.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Tyler Joseph Morris of Hastings, started running between houses when police tried to make contact. Police needed to tackle Morris before he was taken into custody, police said.

Officers recovered several pills and a backpack containing several components used to produce meth from Morris.

Morris is at the Barry County Jail for three outstanding warrants, possession of stolen property and possession of meth components, police said.
