CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a 4-year-old girl killed in a crash Monday was in a car seat.

The wreck happened near the intersection of US-12 and Old 205 in Cass County’s Mason Township. Authorities say an eastbound pickup truck and westbound car collided.

Adrianna Chanthavongsavath, 4, was killed.

Initially, the sheriff’s office said Adrianna was not in a car seat at the time. Thursday, authorities said that was wrong. They said she was properly restrained.

Adrianna’s mother 25-year-old Linda Chanthavongsavath of Vandalia and  73-year-old Edwin Powless Jr. of Otsego both remained hospitalized Thursday.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
