She’s hiked six continents and still going

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) Jennifer Pharr Davis hikes. It’s something that’s in her blood and she hopes her experiences can influence others. Pharr Davis’ hiking resume is long. She’s ventured to 6 continents and is the 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the year. She hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in 46 days and became the fastest person to ever do that and the first woman to set that mark.

Pharr Davis has made hiking her life, she owns the Blue Ridge Hiking Company in North Carolina. It’s also a family affair, with her husband and young daughter always part of what she does. She’s in West Michigan on a speaking tour and hopes her experience can get others to get out and enjoy nature. She says start at your own pace, but to just get out and explore.

Her next goal, to hike in all 50 states with their 20 month old daughter.

Speaking Engagements:

Friday, July 18  – Moosejaw in East Lansing – 7pm
Saturday July 19 – Mason County Library in Ludington 11am
