Restaurant company gives back to community

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) At some locally-owned West Michigan restaurants, giving back to the community is as important as serving it.

Team Schostak, a family-owned company out of Livonia, now owns dozens of Applebee’s restaurants in Michigan. It is making a huge impact through investing in the individual communities it serves.

Each facility is getting a customized and unique local makeover. They’ve taken down the old memorabilia that used to cover the walls and replaced it with murals that celebrate the West Michigan area and local community, including area businesses and high school sports teams.

Check out the new style of the Applebee’s located at 1375 28th Street in Wyoming on Tuesday, July 22. At 11 a.m., there will be a ribbon cutting and check presentation to Feeding America West Michigan. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Dine to Donate will give 20% of proceeds during that time to student athletes at Wyoming High School.

Team Schostak is holding a statewide career fair on Monday, July 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. and at 2 to 6 p.m. at various Applebee’s, Burger King, and Del Taco restaurants throughout the state. They are looking to hire 500 people to fill positions. If you are interested, they want you to go online and apply ahead of time. You can also find out the closest location for you to attend the career fair.
