DTE Energy equipment failure may cause odor

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) –- An equipment failure may cause DTE Energy natural gas customers in Wyoming and Georgetown Township to mistakenly believe they have a gas leak, according to a DTE Energy spokesperson.

The equipment failure caused too much odorant to be put in the natural gas, which may create a gas-like odor in the air, the spokesperson said.

Affected customers should treat the smell as if it were an actual gas leak and contact DTE Energy.
