Rides, food, and fun at the Ionia Free Fair

IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) One of the favorite events of the summer in West Michigan is the Ionia Free Fair. It’s happening until Saturday, July 26.

The Ionia Free fair has one of the largest midways in the state. It’s free to get in. You just have to pay to park.

One of the unique things you can see is the Miracle of Life exhibit. It features barn animals that are due to give birth during the fair. Visitors can see the pregnant animals and the babies as they grow. There are goats, cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, lambs, and rabbits.

A great part of the fair is all of the food! Netterfield’s Popcorn and Lemonade is just one of many vendors. They buy all of their supplies locally, making Italian sausage, polish sausage, corn dogs, pizza, French fries, pizza, caramel corn, and candy apples, among other items.

The Ionia Free Fair has tons of entertainment. You can check out a free circus and concerts, Ionia Idol, and the first ever Ionia Free Fair Brew Fest on Saturday, July 26! Check out their website for information on dates, times, and tickets.

Tuesday, July 22, is Kids Day at the Ionia Free Fair. The midway opens at 1 p.m. There are kids programs from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. At 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Jump will Jill will be there. She does a high energy on health, exercise, and fun.
