Dementia patient missing near Dowagiac

WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Cass County authorities are looking for a man with dementia.

Charles Rusher walked away from an assisted living home at the corner of Morton Road and Glenwood Street, northeast of Dowagiac, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. He was last seen around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Rusher, 59, is 5-foot-6 and 125 pounds. He is described as a very tan white man with a bald head and full beard. He was last seen wearing a pair of gray sweatpants and a gray striped shirt.

Wednesday night, the sheriff’s office said it was using a bloodhound to search for Rusher, and that the effort would continue through the night.
