GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A homeless man was sentenced to prison Thursday for the murder of another homeless man in 2013.

David Eaton was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He received credit for 371 days served.

Eaton pleaded no contest in June to manslaughter for the killing of Steve Spadorcia in July 2013.

Spadorcia’s body was discovered in an alley behind a vacant storefront on Bridge Street. Officers also found Eaton covered in blood, and investigators said he admitted to using a box cutter in a fight with someone.
