2 suspects arrested for stealing high-end liquor

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Two men are in jail for allegedly stealing high-end liquor from a Meijer store Thursday.

The suspects had taken liquor from a Meijer store in Grand Haven Township on Saturday, July 19. Workers at the store saw the suspects come back, again going to the liquor section and putting high-end liquor in their cart, according to a Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Workers called police and then confronted the suspects who then left the store without any liquor. Deputies stopped the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot and found liquor believed to be stolen for a Meijer in the Muskegon area, the release said.

Deputies found nearly $350 worth of liquor inside the vehicle, which will be returned to the Meijer store in Muskegon County.

A 20-year-old Muskegon man and a 20-year-old man from Warren were arrested and are in jail for retail fraud. The Muskegon man had outstanding warrants for retail fraud, according to the release.
