Police investigate multiple shootings in Kzoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD)– Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety are investigating after multiple shootings overnight.

According to officials, two men, both 24, were shot at Interfaith Apartments just before 11 p.m. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and suffered non-life threatening injuries. It is unknown what led up to the shooting.

Earlier in the night at around 8:30 p.m., there was a shooting at a convenient store on Burdick and Cork Street. Police told 24 Hour News 8 that a man showed up to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. Through witness statements, police found out the man either shot himself or was accidentally shot by a person who was in the car with him. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officers are also investigating a report of shots fired in the Edison neighborhood at around 1 a.m. Witnesses on scene told our crew they heard around 10 to 20 shots. Police said there were no victims in that shooting.
