Pedestrian hit and killed by driver

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD)–  A man from Coopersville has died after getting hit by a car.

Officials with Ottawa County say around midnight, 24-year-old Travis Ryke was walking along Arthur Street near 24th Avenue when he was hit by a car.  Investigators say the driver took off. Dispatchers say a passerby found Ryke on the side of the road.

He was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Authorities are now searching for the driver. If you have any information that can help detectives, call Silent Observer or the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
