MARNE, Mich. (WOOD) — A pole barn was reduced to a pile of rubble and when after a massive fire ripped through the structure.

The fire started just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Burdick Farms, located on 16th Avenue. Officials say at least eight fire departments were called to the scene to battle the flames.

Crews tell 24 Hour News 8 that the location of the barn made it difficult to put out the flames and they had to rely on a number of tankers.

Within an hour, crews had the fire extinguished and investigators are working to determine a cause.
