GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A series of late Sunday afternoon storms produced large hail in some West Michigan areas.

The atmosphere rapidly destabilized Sunday afternoon with humid, hot and sunny weather.

Hail was seen in the Holland and Zeeland areas, as well as the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas.

By night, a cold front will sweep through and much less humid and cooler weather will be here this work week.

A severe thunderstorm watch for much of West Michigan that was scheduled to last until 9 p.m. has expired early.
